Dorchester Dash Triathlon
Now in its third year this novice friendly event takes you past the historical sites of Hardy's Monument and Maiden Castle. Based at Dorchester Sports Centre, the event, much like nearby Poundbury, combines historical with contemporary. With the Sports Centre based at Thomas Hardye School, the race will be a great combination of a Sports, Geography and History lesson
Swim = 400m
Bike = 24km
Run = 5km
Starting at the centre's indoor 25m pool, a 400m (16 length) swim will be followed by a 24km scenic bike course which exits Dorchester via Poundbury and takes you to the summit of the climb of Hardy's Monument. Returning to the Sports Centre, the 5km Run Route visits Maiden Castle, an Iron Age Hill Fort, dating back to 4000BC.
The facilities at Dorchester Sports Centre will be availble for you to use including refreshments, swimming pool, changing rooms, showers, toilets.
The Dorchester Dash is part of the 1610 Race Series, consisting of three 10k races, two sprint triathlons and a duathlon across the counties of Somerset, Devon and Dorset. Enter as many of the races as you choose or take on the challenge of the whole series! Are you up for the challenge?
